Damier - Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This app was built around a simple principle: Your data belongs to you, and only you.
This privacy policy explains in plain language what data is created, where it is stored, and which decisions are entirely yours to make.
Every piece of data you enter into the app or that is generated through your use of it is stored exclusively on your device. There are no servers, no cloud database, no background synchronization.
Optionally, you can back up your data to your own Google Drive account. If you do, the backup lives in your Google Drive, not on a server of mine. I, as the developer behind Damier, have zero access to it.
In short: If you uninstall the app without a backup, all your data is gone. If you have a Google Drive backup, your data is safe in your own Google account.
| Data type | Storage location | Third parties |
|---|---|---|
| App settings | Local · DataStore | None |
| Backup data (opt-in) | Your Google Drive | Google LLC |
| User content | Local · RoomDB | None |
| Crash data (opt-in) | Local + Google | Google LLC |
Crashes happen. To help make the app more stable over time, you can opt in to sending anonymized crash reports to Google Crashlytics. This feature is disabled by default and only becomes active when you explicitly turn it on.
When a crash occurs, technical information is transmitted: device model, Android version, stack trace.
No name, no content, no location data.
You can toggle this option at any time in the app's settings.
When enabled, the Google Firebase Privacy Policy applies. Google LLC, headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA, is the third-party data processor for this data.
Damier can optionally back up your data to your personal Google Drive. This feature exists solely for your convenience, so you don't lose your data if you switch devices or reinstall the app.
When you enable this feature, Damier stores a single backup file in a private folder in your Google Drive that only you can see. I, as the developer, have absolutely no access to the file, cannot read it, and never will.
This feature is disabled by default. You can enable or disable it at any time in the app's settings, and delete the backup file directly from your own Google Drive whenever you like.
When enabled, the Google Drive Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy apply. Google LLC, headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA, is the third-party data processor for this data.
Since all data is stored on your device, and any optional backup is stored exclusively in your own Google Drive, you have full control at all times. You can delete your local app data through Android system settings, or simply uninstall the app. If you have enabled Google Drive backup, you can delete the backup file directly from your Google Drive.
Under the GDPR (Art. 15-22), you have the right to access, correct, and delete your data. Since I do not process or store any personal data on my end, these rights are essentially fulfilled already by the local storage on your device and your own Google Drive account.
